They call it a Search Engine Guide, but it’s more of a Guide and an Encyclopaedia! The vast database of informative articles, tips and industry news is absolutely mind blowing. There are more than 6,000 articles in the archives, going back to 1995 - do you know any other site offering this kind of in-depth service? I don’t.
The search engine news section is just a part of the overall site, which has a lot more to offer to would be webmasters, both young and old. Split into three main columns, you have the navigation and archive options on the left hand side, the more recent posts in the centre and up to the minute industry news on the right hand side. The fact that the site does not look crowded, and you can actually differentiate between sections in an instant, is testament to the amount of time which has gone into designing the site.
If there is anything you want to know about the search engine industry, or you are even looking to track the changes over time, you should bookmark this site now.
While the site is owned by Robert Clough (about whom there is little information on the site) the day to day running is handled by Jennifer Laycock (aka “thejenn”, editor) and Linda Riley (associate editor). Both of these ladies have vast experience in the world of search engines and obviously know how to put together a very informative and popular site. While there is a large pool of writers available, Ms Laycock is by far the most active poster - and she is worth listening too.
