SEOmoz have been done by the old www URL trick

Some people are absolute loooosers! They can’t be bothered to create their own valuable website and think they can just live off the success of others. Affiliate marketers are some of the first to spot the cheekiest and easiest ways to get free traffic and free money. There is a long known trick in affiliate marketing to register the domain name of a well know merchant including the www, e.g. the correct url is www.amazon.co.uk but the affiliate would register wwwamazon.co.uk then they would place a redirect on the URL which redirects to the merchant, but of course they drop a tracking cookie at the same time. So they get an affiliate payment for anyone who types in the www version and then goes onto buy something from the merchant. Sneaky, very sneaky.

Well tonight I wanted to go to www.seomoz.org but mistyped it and entered wwwseomoz.org and was surprised to see that I was actually redirected to http://www.vibratingdesigns.com/ (I’m not going to give these sneaky gits the benefits of a free link). Come on Vibrating Design surely you can think of a better, and more ethical way to get traffic. Do you really think any of SEOmoz’s users will want to work with web agency who are typo squatters?
